ChatGPT is a standalone artificial intelligence (AI) tool developed by OpenAI. It is accessed through a website and mobile app and allows users to have text-based conversations to generate ideas, draft written content, support learning, and explore topics of interest.

ChatGPT works by predicting text responses based on patterns in the data it was trained on. It does not “think” or understand information in the same way a person does. While it can provide detailed answers, responses may sometimes be incorrect, incomplete or lack context.
