  • A PIN can be created to restrict access to content that is not available for children. It can be applied to:

    • age ratings,
    • programmes shown after the 9pm watershed, which may be unsuitable for children and,
    • programmes with no age rating attached.

Information on utilising and changing PINs can be found here

  • EE TV also allows TV programmes to be blocked for specific age groups. Guidance on how to do this can be found here.

  • As EE TV is not available to customers outside of EE’s broadband network areas, restrictions may need to be applied to the network to ensure the safety of children and young people.

  • EE Content Locks can be applied to EE Networks, which allow parental controls to be set up, by stopping devices accessing 18-rated content on the network. There are three content locks to choose from:

    1. Moderate: access to social networking sites but not to pornography or content 18-rated by BBFC guidelines.
    2. Strict: safe setting for children under 12, which filters all 18-rated content ut also content that the BBC rates higher than PG.
    3. Off: full access to the internet without filters.
